Destination: Liberation – an art workshop and mutual aid fundraiser

This event is also a mutual aid fundraiser for the founder of Ro’s Garden whose car was recently vandalized. Please select a ticket tier price accessible to you & know that every extra dollar helps a Black, queer, disabled artist!

Destination: Liberation is a creative map making exercise for our collective future. Through breathing exercises, reflection prompts, and collective visioning we’ll utilize art to design for a better world. It’s time to move from anguish to action, and each of us holds the directions and the key within us. Together, we’ll build on the world we live in now to create our roadmap to the world we wish to see.

The weight of this world is heavy. Are you ready to put it down so that we can build something better?

This event is in-person in the South Shore neighborhood. Ticket holders will receive the address the morning of the event.

In the spirit of building towards and enacting liberatory futures this event (and all RG events) is MASK REQUIRED – please wear a well-fitting, high quality respirator such as a N95 or KN94 mask. There will be masks available and air purifiers present.

frequently asked questions

Access Information

The location has 4-5 steps down with a wheelchair ramp available by request. Bathroom is ADA accessible.

Why are masks required?

Ro's Garden is invested in a liberated future for all, especially the most marginalized. As a business run by a disabled person, we maintain as much access to our events as possible by requiring masks so that everyone can attend with decreased risk for catching an airborne illness such as COVID-19

What will we be doing?

Together we'll engage in collective reflection about the current state of the world and collective imagining about the future we want to exist. After, we'll spend the majority of the time listening to some music and making art! Everyone will leave with their own unique art piece.

Do I need to be an artist to attend?

Nope! No previous art experience is necessary, just an open mind and willingness to create.

I have another question that's not listed here!

Not a problem! Send an email to [email protected] and we'll get back to you within 72hrs.
