In-site Workshop Series

In-site (v):

an exercise in radical creativity to cause a new understanding of the true nature of our society

This workshop is for anyone who’s thought a better world is possible but wasn’t quite sure what that tangibly meant. The practice of engaging in artmaking utilizes a different part of the brain than talking, and in a time of unprecedented change, it’s also time we use all the skills available to us, especially by exercising our creative muscles! This 8-week session will include four (4) bi-weekly in-person meetings separated by a prep week. Each session will focus on one aspect of creating an art piece and build upon the prior session. During each in-person session, you can expect:

  • Discussion on session-specific reflection prompts
  • Breathwork and mindfulness exercises
  • Hands-on artmaking & instructor-led tutorials
  • Light refreshments

Through an artistic process of mark-making, coloring & collage, we will:

  • Visually represent the ethical values defined by the systems at play in our physical environment
  • Recreate the “everyday” & reimagine it in service of liberation
  • Lean into the abstract and the absurd to put images together & to make tangible the dreams we hold for our environments
  • Apply “artistic value” to our experiences.

At the end of our time together, after visualizing the circumstances we live with and the values we dream of, we will explore how to bring our dreams into reality.
